Over the course of the first few months of my relationship, I have learned the key to finding exciting and mutually enjoyable activities for our dates. It has been the most magical time getting to know each other. I hope these date night ideas will be helpful to you in your new relationship!
A common phrase I hear from my boyfriend is, “What do you want to do tonight?”. I usually reply with, “I dunno, what do YOU want to do?”.
Is it just me, or is it hard to find ideas for date nights that work for your unique relationship? Do you want to spend time together but can’t figure out what to do? Try some of these ideas out!
Some of the best date nights are spent doing an activity that you both enjoy. For my boyfriend and I, neither of us are big on T.V. but we do enjoy seeing a movie in the theatre! It feels special going to the theatre, sharing a popcorn and cuddling up in the comfy reclining seats. We also love to have at-home date nights, like getting takeout and playing a video game together. Our favorite is Stardew Valley. Since we only have one Nintendo Switch, I got the game on my laptop so we could play together.
Enjoy all the different suggestions, and I hope you find one that will be a new favorite!
Here are some of my favorite Date Night Ideas for New Couples:
- Simple ~ Dinner & a Movie
- Chill ~ Video game date + Takeout
- Social ~ Double date Lunch with friends, dessert and nature walk afterwards
- Fun ~ Bowling + Drinks at the bar
- Active ~ Hiking + Lunch
- Low-key ~ Go for a drive, share some fries
The best thing to do at the end of each date <3

This book is called All About Us by Philipp Keel, and it is a wonderful tool to help you and your partner get to know each other. The topics are diverse and range from funny, to serious, to sexy. The questions can be challenging to answer, but are always interesting. Once my BF and I finish it, I look forward to reading this book on our anniversaries and diving into memories together. We prefer to keep it on our bedside table and answer a few pages of questions after going to bed on date nights. It is such a fantastic way to connect.

My boyfriend and I found this book on Valentines day this year at a local bookstore. We were walking around (me with an armful of books ~ I can’t help myself), and I saw it and picked it up. I asked him a few of the questions and it was immediately so much fun! It’s been wonderful answering questions with him every date night. I can’t wait to finish it and have it forever to look back on. It’s like a guided couple’s journal. How sweet!

Some example questions from All About Us:
What do you find most attractive about your partner?
Who is your hero?
What did you do with the money you earned from your first job?
What did you think when you saw your partner for the first time?
Who initiated the first kiss?
